October 2009:

Habitat Management, Inc. (HMI) is pleased to announce the opening of its Albuquerque office on October 26th, 2009. The office is operated by Mollie Walton, Ph.D. and Katerina Horochowski, both new members of the Habitat Management team. HMI has been providing quality environmental services to private sector and public and tribal governments across New Mexico for over 10 years. Additionally, HMI holds a Construction Contractors License in NM. By opening the Albuquerque office, HMI affirms its strong environmental commitment to New Mexico and enhances its consulting and construction capabilities.

Mollie Walton is the Senior Environmental Scientist for the Albuquerque office. She obtained her undergraduate education from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas and her Doctorate from the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio. She has 17 years of experience in natural resource management with expertise in ecology and extensive experience in soil, native and invasive vegetation, and wildlife management.

Katerina Horochowski (Nina) is the Office & Marketing Manager, holding a Master's of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and an undergraduate degree in International Affairs from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She has 20 years of project management and coordination experience that began with her work within the United States Peace Corps in the early 1990s, and continued with the Crisis Corps and subcontracting with USAID.

June 2009:

Our operators are MSHA trained, CDOT approved, and our construction managers have combined experience of over 100 years in the construction industry.


April 2009:

HMI is pleased to announce the addition of Mr. Scott Benson to its management team. Mr. Benson joined the firm April 20, 2009 as a Senior Environmental Engineer & Project Manager to lead its Gillette, WY office. Mr. Benson’s qualifications include over 20 years of diverse mining experience in northeastern Wyoming and Montana, a Masters in Environmental Engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology, and a Bachelor degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation from the University of Wyoming.

Scott is well known in the community for his activity in Wyoming’s regulatory process as the past Chairman of the Wyoming Mining Association’s Regulatory Affairs Committee, and as Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Board Member of the Campbell County Planning Commission. Scott has a complete understanding of the federal and state regulatory program and bond release.

December 2005:

The Pueblo de San Ildefonso Tribal Council voted to adopt the San Ildefonso Integrated Resource Management Plan into Tribal Code. Habitat Management, Inc. was one of the principal authors of the IRMP.
